The following artists have freely given their time and commitment to this weekend in support of the people of Kaikoura, and surrounding  districts, to help these people stand proud in the face of recent adversity.  Rest assured not one cent of everything raised is being  taken by anyone else other than the people it's destined for

People's Choice, Wellington Folk Festival 2014

The Overdogs are a Wellington-based band made up of  John Newton, Jude Douglas, Tony Paine, Andy Horwood. They play a mix of Folk, Country and Honky Tonk so something for everybody here.
Black Eyed Susie
A classic rock band sound woven around raw Celtic / Country -
Rock lead Violin and Lead Guitar melodic phrases.

Black Eyed Susie include original
songs in all their concerts and create rock pieces out of irish Jigs.

Cabin Fevre is a band unconfined by genre with influences from folk, bluegrass, country, blues, and western swing.  The band is made up of Setha Davenport (USA) whose vocal harmonies add depth and colour and her banjo frailing brings an old time feel.  Roddy Branagan, (Scotland) who weaves the music together with his highly skilled improvisational mandolin and enchants with a syncopated vocal style.  Ian Turbitt (NZ) has more than 30 years performing under his belt, his guitar, harmonica and vocals are as solid as they come.  All of this is held together by Marty Forrer (England/NZ) who has played upright bass in country, jazz, Latin, Irish and rockabilly bands to name a few.
